Being closely linked to these industry leading organisations means that the Marvell Hair Academy are able to offer quality hairdressing courses in Swindon, which include NVQ level 2 & level 3 Hairdressing, NVQ level 2 Barbering, NVQ level 3 Assessor courses, along with private refresher and short courses.

If you are a mature student (19+) who would like to train for your NVQ Diploma in small groups of no more than 10 students, our academy is prefect for you. Small class sizes ensures that optimum learning is achieved.
Our NVQ courses currently have monthly intakes for Hairdressing and Barbering.
We also have fast track NVQ qualifications for experienced Barbers and Hairdressers looking to gain an industry recognised qualification.

Barbering Academy
VTCT NVQ level 2 Barbering qualification
The course costs £2623.95 which can be spread over affordable monthly payments.
You are required to complete at least 10 guided learning hours per week to complete the course within a year. Theory and Practical skills Will take place on Mondays 9.30am until 2.30pm.
We will be organising the session like a Barber shop with clients coming in throughout the day. During quieter periods you will be able to complete theory tasks and practical workshops.
The units covered within the course are:
– Advise and Consult with clients
– Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
– Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
– Cut men’s hair to shape using basic techniques
– Dry and finish men’s hair
– Create basic outlines and detailing in hair.
– Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
– Perm and neutralise the hair
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to advise and consult, and provide a range of cutting and barbering services specifically for men’s hair, which includes creating facial hair shapes. In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem solving and research skills will also be developed.
Class sizes are small to ensure an optimum learning experience (maximum number of students 10), a deposit of £400 is required to secure your place.
